Custom Design Process
1. All deposits placed are non-refundable and non-transferable upon payment. Any cancellations will not be entertained.
2. Typically, 50% deposit is taken on the value of each individual item. Partial deposits may apply on other cases (e.g. drawing etc). We reserve the right to decide on the terms of cancellation.
3. Design sketches or digital renderings will be provided for your approval before initiating the manufacturing process.
For store sample orders, a drawing is usually not provided. For reference, our standard drawing fee is $300 per design (included in quote).
4. 2-3 minor edits are complimentary. Additional fees will apply for excess edits, or major design changes (e.g. changing the entire design or multiple elements). Fees vary between $80-$150 onwards, depending on complexity.
5. Our designers may suggest further modifications to enhance the piece's overall aesthetic and functionality.
6. Your review and approval of the final design are necessary before production begins. Upon approval of design, production will commence and no further changes can be made. We will not entertain any differences in the final goods due to miscommunication.
7. Clear and timely communication from you throughout the design process is crucial to prevent delays in production.
8. Please note that, in the unlikely event of production delays, the promised delivery timeline might be extended to ensure the best finished product.
9. Kindly note that intricate and complex designs typically come with a chance of tugging. While we will make every effort to ensure smooth and refined edges, we cannot fully guarantee the complete elimination of tugging.
Payments & Collections
1. Due to the personalized nature of custom jewelry, items cannot be returned or exchanged.
2. Payment for custom orders is accepted via Cash & Paynow.
3. A 3.5% surcharge applies for Master/Visa/Credit Cards/ Atome, and 1% for NETs.
4. Full payment to be made upon confirmation of CAD.
5. Collection should be completed within 90 days of the item being ready.
6. Failure to do so grants Tessellate Co the right to forfeit the deposit and balance.
Gemstone Selection
1. Natural inclusions are inherent attributes of gemstones and should not be regarded as flaws. You acknowledge that natural inclusions may be present in your custom gemstone jewellery.
2. Due to the nature of gemstones, they may be variations in the colour/ shades of gemstones. In cases where clients request a specific colour shade, we will require two more alternative shades, in case the top choice cannot be sourced/ matched.
3. During collection, kindly check that the gemstones are in good condition. We will not be held liable once the item is collected.
4. Despite our careful setting, unforeseen damage to the stone can occur. In such cases, Tessellate Co will replace the damaged gem. You may select a replacement from our collection of the same value.
5. For customer-provided gemstones, Tessellate Co is not liable for any damage that occurs during setting.
Warranty / Wear & Tear
1. All jewellery items are covered by a 1 year manufacturing defect warranty. In case of wear and tear, or damage caused to the item, a fee will apply for repair.
2. One time free resizing (within 3 months of collection), size up/ down by 1 US size. Additional fees may apply to resizing over 1 size.
If you require more time (e.g. due to proposal date), kindly inform us and we can make arrangements for you.
3. Do note that for all jewellery pieces, depending on the usage as well as wear and tear, there will be scratches over time.
4. Scratches may appear more obviously on certain types of finishing (e.g. Satin, matte). The finishing can be restored at a fee.
Ownership & Copyright
1. All custom designs crafted by Tessellate Co remain the intellectual property of the company.
2. We retain the right to utilize images of custom designs for promotional and marketing purposes.
